This business hotel has a solid position in the region and offers ample banqueting capacity in addition to some 100 rooms. All kinds of events are organised throughout the year, ranging from business meetings during the week to large weddings at the weekend. The kitchen is centrally located in the hotel. From this kitchen, all preparations are done for the brasserie as well as for the banqueting department. The kitchen team consists of about 10 employees.
The hotel is part of a hospitality group with several businesses in Belgium. Within the company, there is open communication and room for initiative.

Duties

As Chef, your focus is mainly on supervising and managing the team. You coordinate the work of the mise en place and ensure the smooth running of the service. You manage the kitchen team and ensure proper organisation and work distribution.
Besides operational management, you will also take on part of the administrative tasks. This includes personnel planning, orders, stock management and food cost monitoring.
Naturally, your creativity is more than welcome. You will have the space to make menu suggestions together with the team.

Profile

For this vacancy, we are looking for the following profile:

  • Educated at the hotel school or within practice
  • Experience as a (sous) chef, preferably within banqueting, catering, events or high volume restaurants
  • A team player with good communication skills
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Flexible attitude
  • You speak Dutch and/or English

Offer

You will work within a flexible schedule, depending on the events. During school holidays it is often quieter, so it is perfectly possible to plan your holidays or recup.

Salary is negotiable and depending on experience.
