Group, Conference & Event Manager - Luxury Hotel

We are looking for an ambitious Group, Conference & Event Manager for a 5-star hotel in Brussels. This impressive hotel has a large number of rooms and suites, various F&B outlets, a beautiful spa, and a wide range of venues where all kinds of events can be organized. A pleasant atmosphere prevails within the company, where teamwork is central. Given the hotel's standard, quality, service, and hospitality are paramount.

Duties

The Group, Conference & Events Manager is responsible for leading a team of four people. The primary tasks include:

  • leadership: managing the team, including 1 assistant, and ensuring a good team dynamic
  • managing requests: efficiently distributing requests among team members while personally handling large or important inquiries
  • coordination: overseeing the entire process, guiding the team from request to execution, addressing problems and unexpected situations
  • support: being present during important events as a point of contact
  • communication: acting as a liaison between the department and other departments, as well as maintaining contact with key external parties such as suppliers and clients
  • sales: developing marketing strategies, integrating a sales culture to increase the number of successful requests
  • oversight: monitoring both customer satisfaction and the budget for each event
  • finance: preparing budgets, forecasting, general cost control, and participating in financial meetings
  • briefings & reporting: preparing and leading team meetings, briefing sessions, and drafting reports
  • duty management: participating in the duty manager rotation within the management team (once per quarter)

This role falls under the sales department, where you report directly to the Director of Sales.

Profile

We are looking for an enthusiastic group, conference, and event manager who will be responsible for organizing and coordinating events within the luxury segment. The ideal profile possesses the following characteristics and skills:

  • location: residing in the Brussels region
  • education level: bachelor's work and thinking level
  • experience: several years of experience within a MICE environment, preferably in hospitality or another high-end environment
  • IT: aptitude for computer programs; knowledge of Opera is a significant plus
  • communication: fluent communication in French and English; Dutch is an absolute advantage
  • leadership: able to motivate and guide team members in a busy environment
  • organizational talent: excellent organizational and coordinating skills
  • results-oriented: achieving the desired results with the team, both financially and customer-focused
  • commercial and financial insight: capable of analyzing data and making strategic decisions
  • customer-focused: professional and presentable appearance, able to maintain customer relationships
  • service-minded: providing high-level service, appropriate for a luxury environment
  • accessibility: available for customers and team members
  • flexibility: adaptability in a dynamically changing work environment
  • passion: a thorough knowledge of and interest in the market and trends
