Executive Chef

We are looking for an Executive Chef for a hospitality company located in the heart of Kempen with excellent accessibility. This person will be responsible for both the brasserie and banqueting department. The main focus of the company is on weekdays, which allows for a good schedule.

The high-class brasserie aims to become the gastronomic reference in the region for both business and leisure guests. The menu offers a variety of dishes, including Belgian classics and dishes with international influences. The dishes are made with locally-sourced ingredients, with a focus on the highest quality. The brasserie is suitable for both a quick lunch and an extensive dinner and has recently been renovated with a trendy luxury interior. Additionally, the brasserie is part of a larger complex with numerous meeting and banquet rooms, where the Executive Chef is responsible for catering.

Duties

As executive chef, you are responsible for the kitchen:
  • you coordinate the kitchen activities
  • you create dishes and menus, with attention to both presentation and taste
  • you manage and guide the kitchen team in their development
  • you oversee the operational kitchen activities, such as mise-en-place, preparation, storage and cleaning
  • you ensure quality and taste
  • you follow the HACCP standards and perform targeted controls
  • you check inventory, consumption and waste
  • you place orders and check deliveries
  • you work closely with the manager and investor
  • you are also responsible for the catering of the banqueting department (coffee breaks, sandwiches, lunches, etc)

Profile

We are looking for an ambitious chef or sous-chef with plenty of experience in the kitchen who is ready for the next step.

You will work flexible hours with a fixed closing day on Sunday and only 2 out of 4 Saturdays.

The kitchen is open continuously during the week, so there is no service cut-off.
