Duties
A Day in the Life of the Hotel Manager:
The day starts on time. You check if the Front Office and Housekeeping have started smoothly. When guests arrive, you are the point of contact for questions and problems, ensuring quick solutions. In between, you monitor feedback and give the team tips for improvements. Afterwards, there is time for administration and daily checks. You closely monitor occupancy and room prices. You also ensure that the schedules are correct and orders have been processed. At the end of the day, you evaluate the resultsand report to the country manager. When everything runs well, you know that your contribution and that of the team is excellent for the guests' stay.
Your tasks center around the following areas:
- Daily Checks: everything runs smoothly at Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance - there is order and cleanliness
- Guest Contact: resolve complaints and questions quickly and efficiently - ensure happy guests
- Team Lead: train, motivate, evaluate - ensure a watertight schedule
- Stock: inventory and waste management, placing orders, communication with suppliers
- Finance: budgeting, forecasting, cost control, invoicing
- Flexibility: always ready to resolve last-minute issues; if necessary, you support the reception during busy times
Profile
- English is a must, Dutch and French are a big plus
- bachelor's degree in Hotel Management or equivalent
- several years of Hotel Front Office experience
- several years of leadership experience
- positive leadership and strong communication skills
- financial insight, strong numerical skills
- organizational talent, can maintain an overview
- responsible, dynamic, and can find ad-hoc solutions
- flexible mindset and willing to step in during evenings and weekends, be present or on standby
